DI magazine augments reality for Photoshop CS5

E-mail Print PDF
To celebrate the arrival of Photoshop CS5, we created an augmented reality back cover in conjunction with our friends  over at Better Photoshop Techniques print magazine.

It's a first for any Photoshop magazine in the world,  iPad or print, and given that this year is also the 20th anniversary of Photoshop itself, we think that it is a cause for celebration.
To celebrate with us, just follow these steps:

STEP 01: To view the hidden elements of this augmented reality back cover make sure that your web camera is switched on and is working. Also make sure that you have the latest version of the Flash Player Plug-In for your browser installed.

STEP 02: Next, click Here di-magazine-ar-sml to display the special viewer pop-up window. Click the ALLOW button in the dialogue that appears to give allow the window to use your web-cam.

STEP 03:
Angle the back cover towards the camera keeping your fingers away from the white rectangle target and wait a few seconds for the hidden elements to be revealed.

Be sure that your web-cam is set up properly. If after you click the 'Allow Camera and Microphone Access' button your web camera view doesn't appear in the window, right-click on the window and select Settings from the pop-up window. Then make sure that www.di-magazine.com is listed for the web-cam in the Adobe Flash Player Settings window. Now click on the small web-cam icon (bottom-right) and select your camera from those listed. Next click Close to hide the Settings pop-up window.
